RAEME Cane
This cane was made as a gift for my previous Divisional Officer, who was Adjutant of the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) at the time of presentation. Constructed with solid brass fittings and a Tasmanian Oak body, this cane was the first I ever made. It houses a RAEME badge from the 1950's, gently wrapped around the knob of the cane. Below the knob is a brass fitting with the RAEME colours painted within three inlays using a gloss acrylic paint. The ferrule is engraved with the RAEME motto, "Arte et Marte". The handle is Italian hide leather that has been cross-stitched at the rear, expertly crafted by Jim's Leather Craft. The cane is weighted such that the centre of gravity is at the handle.
