RAEME BBQ

This was a fun project that I'd like to showcase that was undertaken by myself and my good Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical (RAEME) friends during a Logistics Officer Basic Course (LOBC) in Bandiana some time ago. As is tradition, something must be painted in the RAEME colours every LOBC by the RAEME members of the course. We decided to do something tasteful that would not get washed away (or any of us charged), but also a bit more visible than a single brick on the theatre building, so we decided on the Officers' Mess BBQ. The original wood was rotting away and already in need of an upgrade, and what better place for the colours of morale to be painted than on a mess BBQ! We bought some wood and had the RAEME Cypher and Emblem shaped into the planks in a CNC machine at the Latchford Barracks Makerspace. After some cleaning up, staining and painting, and the addition of a chain for Harry the Horse, the old planks were ripped out and our homage to the RAEME tradition was put into place. For the grand opening, we celebrated the last day of LOBC with a free BBQ for all RAEME staff and students. I hope our addition to the area will soon be outdone by the RAEME Lieutenants of future LOBC's.
